Studio SMG is a start-up Design Studio in Shanghai, run by Simon Glas and Marieke van Eijkeren.
They are both Dutch and after living in Barcelona they now enjoy Shanghai as their home.

Simon Glas studied at the Art Academy Minerva in Groningen, The Netherlands. After working for several companies as a graphic designer, he ran his own graphic design studio in Amsterdam for several years. He then worked as a 3D generalist for VFX studio GlassWorks in Amsterdam and Barcelona and later The Mill in Shanghai. He now is a product designer with a strong interest in architectural features.

Marieke van Eijkeren has a MA in Product Design and Digital Modeling from ESDESIGN in Barcelona in collaboration with the International University of Valencia, and a certificate Engineering Design for a Circular Economy from the university of Delft, The Netherlands. She is a product designer with a devotion for user friendliness and new ecological materials. She is passionate about designing lamps.

Studio SMG designs products that aim for an easier and more fun lifestyle. Studio SMG uses as much recycled materials as possible for their products.
